what is dextrose?
dextrose is a monosaccharide, or simple sugar, that is derived entirely from corn starch. dextrose replenishes muscle glycogen (fuel) levels rapidly and, as such, is a great choice after exercise.
dextrose, also known as glucose, is found in the body and is the result of breaking down carbohydrates (dextrose is also a carbohydrate). by consuming dextrose, the process of breaking down starchy carbohydrate is skipped resulting in a rapid supply of energy.
taste wise, dextrose is about 20% less sweet than regular cane sugar. dextrose is commonly added to pre, intra and post-workout drinks. dextrose is commonly mixed with protein, creatine and bcaa to give just a few examples.
dextrose is of the highest quality, providing 100% dextrose. a quick glance at the certificate of analysis (coa) on this product page (to the side of the product image) reaffirms this.
